Laura Stone

  • Laura is a Wisconsin-born artist and art teacher.  After spending some time at the University of Stevens Point, WI developing her music and art skills, she relocated to Arizona and enrolled in the education department at Arizona State University.  She earned her BFA degree in Art Education from ASU in 2000.  She lived and taught in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving back to Wisconsin.  Then took a position in the Grafton School District and worked eight years with the high school and elementary art students.  Following her time at Grafton, she spent two years in South Korea teaching for the Seoul International School.  This experience afforded her the opportunity to travel and explore Asia, observe other cultures, try on languages and have fun.  She returned stateside in 2011, taught as a substitute, and most recently with the elementary students in the West Bend School District.  Laura continues to pursue a career in education. She is currently painting in watercolors and oil, and is inspired by those things above and below her feet.  For more information about Laura and her work, please visit her website:laura-schroeder.squarespace.com.
