And so it goes with my art. Left brain and right brain argue the whole day long. I am most comfortable when I am creating forms that are controlled, repetitive and functional. Yet I often long to cut loose with more natural and structural forms. So occasionally, you will see in some of my pieces a combination of very differing styles. And the whole brain is happy.
I learned basketmaking in the 1990s but didn’t commit to creating baskets as art until March of 2012, when the reality of the proverbial empty nest set in. I was thrilled and honored to be invited into an Artist Co-Op, The Arts Mill in Grafton, WI, where I am mentored and supported by an amazing group of artists.
