I’m proud to say I’ve been a member of the Arts Mill since its inception in 2011. This is a special place to me; not just a building where my studio happens to be. The energy I feel here.. and the inspiration I get from working next to not just creative artists but wonderful people… they keep pushing me forward.

My first love is literature. When strung together properly, words can conjure emotions, alter perspectives, even drive change. My second love: painting. I’m by no means a fine artist, but I enjoy making whimsical pieces that hopefully capture slice-of-life moments. Often times I’ll be halfway through a painting when a phrase or song lyric snippet pops into my head — and that drives the work to completion.

Since I was young I’ve been drawn to the arts… doodling, painting, writing, playing with clay & glass… these are the pastimes I love.

“Junk Rethunk” is the unofficial name I’ve given my studio, which first began in 2003 after I sold my first refurbished wood tray with found objects, acrylic paint and resin. Since then my refurbished pieces have expanded to include bottles, wine corks, bottle caps, vintage pieces, salvaged wood and frames.

I’ve been teaching children’s art classes at North Shore Academy of the Arts (NSAA) for several years now, and thoroughly enjoy the infectious, unbridled energy and creativity that kids have.
