Tiernee

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Tiernee and I’m a multidisciplinary process artist. I create all kinds of things with all sorts of materials. My favorite materials to work with are clay, paints and found objects. When I create objects or imagery, I don’t usually start with a vision of the finished product. I usually start with a feeling, emotion, or thought, allowing the materials and emerging forms to guide my process as I work.

I studied art at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay where I experimented with printmaking, clay, metals, and paint. I then took a few years off (about 10) and made no art (except for a few gifts for close friends and family). As the years rolled by and I started a family, I began to reintegrate my creative self by making functional pottery and starting a little Etsy shop called The Foraged Feather. With my day job starting to take a toll, I thought about taking pottery full-time. But I knew it wasn’t enough to fulfill my creative and service desires. I then discovered and enrolled at Mount Mary University’s Master of Science in Art Therapy and Counseling. Here I rediscovered my artist identity while also realizing my ability to guide others through healing processes with art. I haven’t looked back since!

I am available for studio visits and private art lessons (not currently taking therapy or counseling clients). Please inquire through theforagedfeather@gmail.com.

Once in a while I have functional pottery available online in my Etsy store at www.etsy.com/people/TheForagedFeather. Or just stop in to The Arts Mill where you can see and hold it in person!
