Amy Jarvis

Amy Jarvis is a Wisconsin artist and yoga instructor living in Thiensville, Wisconsin. Born to an artistic family, her father was a commercial photographer and her mother a fashion designer, she has always been surrounded by creativity and innovation that soaked deep into her spirit and outlook. An urban dweller most of her life, she also has a love and keen eye for natural settings and animals that are reflected in her art.

Amy graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) with a degree in Illustration. She spent years working as a Digital Photo Retoucher in the Milwaukee and Fond du Lac areas and her keen sense of color and lighting made her highly sought after for her vibrant work.

This same sense of colors and their interactions with light, along with a skilled and artistic talent for effective use of the background to enhance the image give her paintings a recognized grace and emotion. Her recent solo show at Langdon Divers Gallery in Fond du Lac drew large crowds and was among the most successful shows at the gallery. Amy won viewers choice awards in both 2015 and 2017 for an annual regional show put on by THELMA Center for the Arts. In addition to her exhibited works she spends a great deal of time painting dogs and cats for custom commissioned pet portrait work, and continues to accept new clients. Other custom work is available, such as large scale floral work. Feel free to e-mail her at

Amy’s 2018 personal work will be focused on larger scale paintings of women. One series she is creating will focus on International women and have flavors of history, fantasy and perhaps some sci-fi influence.

Jarvis is a 500hr registered Vinyasa yoga instructor, from YogaOne Studio in Milwaukee.

She has been an active executive board member for the last four years at Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, as well as putting on yoga events throughout the year.
