PEEP SHOW II

A juried exhibit of fine art nudes

Opening Reception: March 28, 6:00-9:00pm

TYPE OF WORK: 

The Arts Mill is proud to present, PEEP SHOW II, a tasteful exhibit of fine art nudes. Work must be created by an artist 18 or older. This exhibition is seeking works that are not sexual in nature but rather artistic interpretations of the human figure.

TYPE OF MEDIA:

All media are acceptable. All work must be the artist’s own original concept, design and execution; completed within the past 1-2 years; and not previously shown in the Arts Mill Gallery. Each piece must be clearly labeled on the back and properly framed or mounted and ready to hang. Framed pieces must have wire attached securely on the back for hanging, NO sawtooth or notchtooth hangers. Paintings or painted artwork must be completely dry. All matted works on paper must be behind glass or plexiglass.  Artists who enter video/digital entries are required to provide all equipment required to view their art as well as set up the entry for the exhibit.

AWARD:
There will be $200 in cash awards given at the opening reception on March 28th from 6:00-9:00pm.

SALES:
The Arts Mill retains 30% of the price on all items sold during the exhibition. Please price work accordingly.

SCHEDULE:

  • Online entries now until Thursday, March 13, 2014.
  • In-person entries – Saturday, March 8th – Thursday, March 13th (11am-5pm).
  • Drop off artwork at the Arts Mill Gallery, located on the 3rd floor of the Arts Mill.
  • Completed labels attached and $20 entry fee due with entries. Please make checks payable to NSAA.
  • Notifications are sent by email March 18.
  • Drop off of accepted art is March 19th-22nd (11am-5pm).
  • Pick up of any artwork not accepted into the show is on March 19th-22nd (11am-5pm).   The Arts Mill will not be responsible for any work left after the pick up date.
  • Pick up of accepted art after exhibit – May 3rd, 6th and 7th (11am-5pm).

 

The Juror: Brief Bio – Virgilyn “Virgi” Driscoll – Artist/Arts Education Consultant

Virgilyn “Virgi” Driscoll received both of her degrees, BS in Art Education and MS in Painting from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and has received many credits beyond that.  She taught art primarily to juniors and seniors at Greendale HS and prior to that elementary art and art supervision in the Elmbrook School District.  Driscoll is recognized as a leader in art/arts education statewide and nationally. After her teaching career, she became Executive Director of Wisconsin Alliance for Arts Education.  She serves as chair of the Visioneer Design Challenge, a program she developed for the state for Middle and High School art students; served on the task force of the new state art & design curriculum guide; and also as art consultant for school districts upon request.

Virgi is former chair of the South East Chapter of Wisconsin Visual Artists. She is part owner of THE Fine Art Gallery. She served on the Board of the Museum of Wisconsin Art.  She now serves on the MAM Print Forum board, and task force on the Walkers Point Center for the Arts.  She has won many awards for her leadership at the state and national levels and awards for her art as well.  She has juried & critiqued many student and professional shows throughout the years.
